OUR CRAFT BEERS

So what exactly is a craft beer? Well, here at Rocks Brewing Co we think it has a lot to do with the time and care taken to craft our 100% Australian ales.

We take pride in the complex and sophisticated flavours of our brews, which are achieved while staying true to our simple brewing process –

“Nothing but Barley, Hops, Water & Yeast.”

Our first batch of Red Ale – originally known as Richard Byrne Red Ale – was brewed September 2008.

Since then we have created a core range of beers – based around the shady characters and sly merchants that called the first settlement home – as well as the Conviction Range of limited edition brews that push the boundaries of brewing.

Our beers are currently available on tap in selected pubs and restaurants as well as in bottles at good craft beer retailers . Keep an eye out for our distinctive logos on the taps and in the fridges of all good drinking establishments.

	THE BOXER RED ALE The Boxer is a traditional-style Irish Red Ale that pours with a deep red hue, being the original beer released in 2008. The use of crystal and chocolate malts from the UK creates a soft, caramel flavour profile, giving a hit of chocolate and caramel on the nose as well. The malt focus of the brew is bolstered by the addition of ale malt, creating an easy-drinking brew that is perfect for every season. Aroma: Light malt with toffee and coffee notes Flavour: Malt with light bitterness Appearance: Deep red, off white head Body: Medium Bitterness: 24 IBU Alcohol: 4.2%
	THE HANGMAN PALE ALE Our American inspired pale ale is a bold flavoured beer, championing cascade, centennial and mosaic hops provides an aroma of citrus and pine. Biscuit malt profile with a firm bitterness leaves you satisfied yet wanting more! Aroma: Big citrus and pine notes Flavour: Malt, hops, and more hops Appearance: Deep gold with a tight, white head Body: Medium-full Bitterness: 40 IBU Alcohol: 4.9%
	THE BUTCHER PORTER The Butcher is a traditional-style Robust Porter with a twist. Brewed with Ale and Crystal malts, the beer sidesteps around tradition with the addition of chocolate malt, to darken and add flavour, as well as flaked oats to create a silky smooth finish. The combined malt profile creates a richly complex flavour that is incredibly balanced and drinkable, which pays homage to the great style that is Porter. Aroma: Chocolate, toffee, and coffee notes Flavour: Dark chocolate and toffee Appearance: Jet black with a tan head Body: Medium-full Bitterness: 26 IBU Alcohol: 5.0%
	THE GOVERNOR GOLDEN ALE With aroma popping from the glass akin to a tropical fruit bowl just begging you to have a taste! Our golden ale carries malt sweetness upfront with moderate bitterness finishing dry to make this beer a delightful thirst quencher! Aroma: Citrus, stone fruit, and malt notes Flavour: Subtle bitterness with stone fruit and citrus Appearance: Light golden with a fluffy white head Body: Light Bitterness: 25 IBU Alcohol: 4.5%
	THE CONVICT LAGER This is as far from mass-produced macro lager as it is possible to be. Brewed with Munich and Vienna malts, along with Ella and Saaz hops – added late to the whirlpool and dry-hopped for extra flavour – The Convict is a classic lager than satisfies without sacrificing flavour. The clean malt of this craft lager complements the fresh, grassy hop palate, making it the perfect hoppy session beer. Aroma: Herbaceous spicy hops Flavour: Light, with a fresh and grassy hop aroma Appearance: Burnt gold with a tight white head Body: Light Bitterness: 30 IBU Alcohol: 5.1%
